To Amy some men had a scent signature that preceded them as they got close. Fried onion, lemon grass or cloves, pleasant smells. And why did she not realise right away that Simon’s signature smell of overheated cooking oil meant trouble? Meeting two men with appealing scent signatures nearly at the same time, fresh coffee for one and cinnamon for the other, seemed nearly too good to be true.
